Our history
Paul-André Poulin, the valiant founder!
VERDUN ROOFING INC.
Since 1966, after almost 50 years of experience, the roofs have no secrets for Verdun Roofing inc. founder Paul-André Poulin that retired almost eight years ago. Despite his retirement, he was still working seven days a week. Now he comes only occasionally to ensure our building maintenance. He is finally, enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
Founder Paul-André Poulin has always worked in roofing! At first, he was hired by a brother-in as supervisor roofers in the small family business W. Poulin and son. Following a declining increase in wages, Paul-Andre decided to use his knowledge to make the leap. “I was earning 50 cents an hour, to feed my family, I had to make more money. It was my first motivation to start a business”, he says today.
For the first year of operation, with a truck and in a tiny office in Ville LaSalle, Paul-André operates alone. Seeing the growing opportunity, he asks his brother if he would join him. He agrees to follow him in this new adventure. A year later, they find themselves in Montreal East where they really began his family business history. They must use the services of 15 to 20 employees. Contracts flow, almost exclusively from residential, then, they concentrated in the commercial and industrial. His son, Daniel, which started to work for the company in 1985, is now the sole owner and the company director. The first quality of Verdun Roofing is its reliability.
